When you book a course abroad, you are really booking a trainer. Here is who will be leading the room in Ptuj, in his own professional background rather than a marketing summary.

Who is Oliver Buček?

mag. Oliver Buček leads RoboTech STEM Center in Ptuj, Slovenia, where he teaches robotics and STEM and trains teachers to bring VEX IQ into their classrooms. He is a Certified VEX Educator and a VEX IQ specialist, holds a master's degree in Pedagogics, and is a Microsoft Innovative Educator.

Twelve years of Erasmus+

For twelve years Oliver has coordinated Erasmus+ projects and has completed more than ten that connect schools across Europe. That matters for you in a practical way: he knows what a National Agency asks for, what a school needs to document, and how a course fits into a funding application. If you have a question about describing the training in your application, he has probably answered it before. Our application checklist is built on that experience.

Speaking and teaching internationally

Oliver presents at education conferences in Slovenia and abroad, including in Portugal, Spain, Estonia, Finland and Croatia. Most recently, at the Education Summit 2026 in Guimarães, Portugal, he led two hands-on workshops in April 2026: one on AI vision sensors in VEX IQ and one on introducing the VEX AIR drone in the classroom.

Competitions and mentoring

He organises international VEX IQ competitions and mentors students in STEM. In 2024 he received the Inženirska iskra (Engineering Spark) Award for his dedicated mentoring of young people and outstanding promotion of VEX robotics in Slovenia and abroad. Three times he has travelled to the VEX Robotics World Championship in Dallas, USA, as coach and mentor of Slovenian teams.

How he teaches

Oliver believes in learning by doing and uses digital tools to make complex ideas accessible. He leads courses in a practical and supportive style, leaving plenty of room for questions and for exchange between participants. In a typical day roughly two thirds of the time is practical work, and the trainer gives individual feedback while you build, program or test.

What this means for your course

  • You learn from someone who teaches the same material to students every week.
  • You get a trainer who is used to groups from different countries and different school systems.
  • You can ask about the practical side of funding and planning, not only about robots.

Courses led by Oliver
