Erasmus+ KA1 application pack: Teaching with AI: Practical Tools and Ethics for Teachers ============================================================ TRAINING PROVIDER ------------------------------------------------------------ Training provider: RoboTech, mag. Oliver Buček (RoboTech STEM Center) Address: Čučkova ulica 5, 2250 Ptuj, Slovenia Erasmus+ Organisation ID (OID): E10436304 Contact person: Oliver Buček, info@robotech.si, +386 70 390 664 Website: https://robotech.si/erasmus ACTIVITY DETAILS ------------------------------------------------------------ Course title: Teaching with AI: Practical Tools and Ethics for Teachers Type of activity: structured course for school education staff (Erasmus+ KA1) Dates: 26–30 July 2027 Venue: RoboTech STEM Center, Čučkova ulica 5, 2250 Ptuj, Slovenia Duration: 5 days, 30 hours of learning activities Language of instruction: English Course page: https://robotech.si/erasmus/teaching-with-ai-practical-tools-and-ethics-for-teachers COURSE DESCRIPTION ------------------------------------------------------------ A five-day Erasmus+ course for teachers of all subjects: use AI tools to plan lessons and save time, teach students to use AI critically, and learn the ethics, privacy and rules every school needs to know. Target group: Teachers of all subjects in primary, lower-secondary and upper-secondary schools (roughly ages 8–18), school leaders and school staff who want to use AI confidently, safely and responsibly. Methodology: The course is learning by doing: roughly two thirds of every day are practical work with AI tools in pairs and small international groups, and one third is short input, demonstration and discussion. Each block follows the same cycle: try the tool on a real teaching task, check and improve the result with peers, discuss the risks, then plan how to use it with your own students. Participants receive example prompts, lesson templates and a policy template they can use directly, and trainers give individual feedback during practical tasks. Digital tools: freely available AI assistants and image tools, and a shared online folder for materials and group work before, during and after the course. Tools change quickly, so we focus on methods that work with any of them. LEARNING OUTCOMES ------------------------------------------------------------ - Explain in simple terms how generative AI works, what it can and cannot do, and why its answers must be checked. - Use AI tools to plan lessons, differentiate tasks, and prepare materials and assessments, and check and adapt the results to their curriculum. - Design classroom activities that build students' AI literacy and critical thinking. - Apply the basics of data protection (GDPR), copyright, bias and the EU AI Act when using AI in school. - Assess student work fairly when AI is available, and write a short classroom or school AI policy. - Create a concrete implementation plan for their own school and share practice with colleagues from other European countries. PROGRAMME ------------------------------------------------------------ Monday 26 July 2027: Welcome and understanding AI (09:00–16:00 (lunch 12:30–13:30)) Introductions and tour of RoboTech STEM Center. What generative AI is and is not: how language and image models work at a level teachers can explain to students, what they do well, where they fail and why they sometimes invent facts. First hands-on tasks with chat assistants and a shared set of prompting techniques. Tuesday 27 July 2027: AI for planning and teaching materials (09:00–16:00 (lunch 12:30–13:30)) Using AI as a planning assistant: lesson ideas, differentiated tasks, rubrics, quizzes and worksheets in several levels of difficulty. Critical checking of AI output, adapting it to your curriculum and language, and building a personal prompt library. Practical lab: each participant prepares a lesson they can use on their return. Wednesday 28 July 2027: AI in the classroom with students (09:00–16:00 (lunch 12:30–13:30)) Activities where students work with AI: investigating answers, comparing sources, fact-checking and creating with image tools. Designing tasks that build AI literacy and critical thinking rather than copying; age-appropriate use and classroom management. A hands-on look at AI that sees: image recognition and AI vision as a way to explain how machines learn. Thursday 29 July 2027: Ethics, privacy and the rules (09:00–16:00 (lunch 12:30–13:30)) Responsible use: personal data and GDPR in practice, what never to paste into a tool, bias, transparency, copyright and student wellbeing. The EU AI Act and school policies in a nutshell, academic integrity and assessment in the age of AI, and how to write a short classroom or school AI policy together. Friday 30 July 2027: Assessment, implementation plans and certificates (09:00–16:00 (lunch 12:30–13:30)) Assessing work when students may use AI: process-based tasks, oral explanations and transparent AI use statements. Each participant presents a lesson or policy idea from the week and prepares a personal implementation plan for their school. Evaluation, next steps, plans for future cooperation and certificates. EUROPEAN DIMENSION AND FOLLOW-UP ------------------------------------------------------------ The course brings together teachers from several European countries. Group work is deliberately mixed by country, and time is reserved to compare national guidance on AI in schools, share practice and explore ideas for future Erasmus+ cooperation, such as school partnerships and eTwinning projects. The course supports Erasmus+ priorities of digital transformation, inclusion and quality teaching. On the last day each participant prepares a personal implementation plan for their school. After the course you keep access to the shared materials and receive suggestions for next steps, such as updated tool lists, ideas for staff training and ways to present the course to colleagues at your school. RECOGNITION ------------------------------------------------------------ Every participant receives a certificate of attendance with their name, a short description of the course and its learning outcomes, dates, venue, the name of the training provider and of the trainer. The learning outcomes are written so that the certificate can be used together with Europass. COSTS ------------------------------------------------------------ Fee: €400 per participant (5-day course).
